Bridge Closing - 2007/11/20 12:48 Anyone coming from the St. Louis area, check out the bridge closing notice.

Boone Bridge WB Will Close Two Weekends In December

Last updated: 11/20/2007 12:09:25 PM

KSDK - MoDOT will close the westbound section of the Daniel Boone Bridge on two weekends in December.

The westbound bridge will be closed from 5 a.m. December 1st to 7 p.m December 2nd, and again at the same times on December 8th and 9th.Advertisement

Officials say the inspections ordered in the summer revealed the scope of what work needed to be done on the bridge. Those inspections were ordered after an interstate bridge collapsed in Minneapolis.

The eastbound section of the Boone Bridge will remain open, officials say.

During the westbound closures, drivers going from St. Louis County to St. Charles County will have to drive to I-270, then north to either the Page Avenue Extension or to I-70.

Re:Bridge Closing - 2007/11/29 11:23 Here is an update on the bridge closing. Postponed until the next 2 weekends.

Boone Bridge work delayed

The westbound Highway 40 Daniel Boone Bridge will stay open, after all, this weekend. RELATED LINK
Boone Bridge to undergo repairs this weekend

Because of a chance of bad weather, the Missouri Transportation Department has decided to postpone its plans to shut down the western portion over the Missouri River for repairs.

National Weather Service forecasters are calling for freezing rain Saturday morning and a chance of thunderstorms Sunday.
MoDOT's new plan, announced this morning, is to begin the repair work Dec. 8. Westbound lanes will be closed from 5 a.m. that day until 7 p.m. Dec. 9. The job likely will continue the following weekend.

Crews will close westbound Highway 40 between Long Road in St. Louis County and Highway 94 in St. Charles County. The entrance ramp from Chesterfield Airport Road also will be closed during those times

Re:Bridge Closing - 2007/11/29 18:30 For you history buffs; Did you know that Daniel Boone's full name is Daniel Warren Boone?

Somewhat of a coincidence being that my name is Daniel Warren Robertson (DNR for short!!)

What is who cares for $1200 Alex?

Re:Bridge Closing - 2007/11/30 12:20 If I saw a person with that exact type face then I'd soil myself. The only exception to that rule is if I was in WalMart observing falling prices. DNR

Re:Bridge Closing - 2008/02/28 07:52 This is by no means 100% reliable information but....

I heard on the radio (106.5 FM) this morning that the West Bound Boone Bridge (in Chesterfield) will be closed this Saturday and Sunday for repairs. Anyone going to the DZ out of or through the St. Louis area will have to take an alternate route.
