Re:USPA Coach Course May 16th - 18th - 2008/03/31 13:10I would like to officially beg that the dates be switched to any other date OTHER than the 16th thru the 18th. I so need to take this class, but I have a company event that starts on the 16th and does not conclude until the 18th.
Nobody cares about your friggin lame ass work schedule. If you wouldn't have quit your other job we would stll be jumping all over the midwest on company time. Jo, please do not accomadate this knuckle head. The next thing you know, you'll have to take care of his camera equipment give him rides, etc........... Where does it end with this guy.....jeeeesh!
Just kidding Heath. You know I love you (in a non homosexual way, I wanted to say non faggot way but that might offend someone, ooops I did it)
PS I'll be there Jo. Do we need to have our two FJC's taught by then our will that be included in the weekend?
Re:USPA Coach Course May 16th - 18th - 2008/03/31 15:59We love you both..........(of course in a non homosexual way)Forget the Politics, Support Skydiving!!!!

Re:USPA Coach Course May 16th - 18th - 2008/03/31 16:16In order to get your coach license you will have to assist in 2 FJC's - most of the time both aren't required prior to the course - but highly recommended.
Do we have any 1st jump courses coming up? I'd like to help!
Jo - who is teaching the course? Is Julie going to take it?
Re:USPA Coach Course May 16th - 18th - 2008/04/01 10:11Jo, please disregard Kevin's comments. He is suffering from lack of altitude. He get a little crabby right before the season kicks off. Getting back to my begging request to move the class to any other date than the 16-18. Kevin will not be able to make it to the class on the 16-18 either. He has committed to attending my work function. He is not the kind of friend that would leave me hanging when he has already committed to attending my function.
So it's all settled!! Great! When will the rescheduled class be?

Re:USPA Coach Course May 16th - 18th - 2008/04/03 12:34Not to drag this conversation away from our feelings toward each other, but I wanted to post the specifics for the course.
A. Requirement for taking the course USPA membership B-license or FAI equivalent Minimum of 100 jumps. Have the written exam completed prior to the course.
B.The Proficiency Card: The Coach proficiency card is in the back of the USPA IRM. (Instructional Rating Manual) You need a current IRM and SIM for the course. Current means not older then 24 months. This card serves as your rating application form after you are done with the course. Most topics on the card get signed off during the course by either the course director or by your evaluator.
"Assisting in the first jump course" and "teaching the general portions in the first jump course" need to be done at your home dropzone and can be completed before or after the course.
C. The Course The course starts with verification of the requirements (see A) so bring your membership card and logbook if necessary. There is one day of classroom in which we will discuss the materials in the IRM and SIM that pertain to the coach rating. To be successful each candidate must score satisfactory on 2 teaching sections from category A, and on several topics for ground preparation for group free fall skills (cat. G and H.) You also get evaluated on in air skills. You must score satisfactory on 2 evaluation jumps. And each candidate must score at least 80% on a written exam. It is an open book test. The questions are in the back of the IRM, so are the answer sheets. All candidates must complete the written test prior to attending the course. For those who show up without the test completed ,or do not score at least 80 % on the first test, a 100 % score will be required on the test that is taken during the course.
ALthough we don't have any upcoming ground schools, that can change quickly. Also, even if their aren't students around, the other instructors are happy to act as mock students and sign things off.
For those of you who want to do some practice eval. jumps Paul is always happy to jump with you. Be sure to catch him in the next few weeks before Kansas City reopens for the summer.
Sorry Heath -- no date change. Bram squeezed us in between his winter in Florida and summer in Europe (must be a rough life... )

Date Change -- Sorry! - 2008/05/08 18:05I just received an email from Elly, and Bram will be having surgery on May 16th and won't be able to conduct the coach's course. I am in the process of individually notifying everyone registered, and Bram is next available July 4th-6th (also a Friday, Saturday, Sunday). We're going to aim for these dates and hope for the best!
P.s. Heath, I moved the coach's course just for you... Aren't we a full-service DZ?
