Robert Cook - 2008/07/18 14:29
All, It's hard to believe it's been almost 2 years since we lost those that we loved.... I know I'm not speaking for myself when I say that not a day goes by that I do not think of our friends that perished in the crash of N203E. I miss seeing their smiling faces on the way to altitude, but know that they are all their with us day in and day out. As many of you know, the Australian Government awarded Robert with a medal of honor for his actions on July, 29, 2006. The Star of Courage, which is Australia's 2nd highest bravery decoration, was awarded to Robert for his selfless act of bravery which saved Kimberley's life. Rather then accept the award at the Embassy in Washington, D.C., we have made arrangements to accept the award at the DZ in Bowling Green so that all of Robert's friends and family can join us to celebrate. July 26th, Ms. Gill of the Australian military, will be in BG to present the medal to Annette and I in Robert's honor. The ceremony will probably be sometime before noon on Saturday and all are welcome to attend. We will also have the annual sunrise high altitude hop and pop that morning, and I will be taking Annette on her 2nd tandem skydive after the ceremony. As we finalize more details, I'll keep you informed... Thinking of you all, hope to see you in the sky next weekend.... Mark
