Jim Smith update - 2008/09/11 10:59 I just learned that one of our regular jumpers, Jim Smith, was injured Tuesday night in a BASE jumping accident. He collided with a power line and was electrocuted. Jim is having surgery this morning, and will be in the burn unit of St. John's hospital for the next ten days or so. I'll post any more information as soon as I get it.

Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers, and let's hope we see him in the air again soon.

Surgery/skingraph. As you might expect they have him on some pretty good pain killers. He is doing good, he had a bit better skin color tonight, seems very strong and in a good mood considering. Nothing is broken and everything works as far as we can tell.
Jim will just need some time to recover and maybe another surgery.

They should be done with the surgery's now.

Jim is getting physical therapy daily and they were talking about getting him on his feet today, and maybe taking a few steps.

He looks really good, but in a bit of pain. The skin graphs look good, the ones I have seen.

Jim is doing good. Although he will need some time to recoup.
The skin graphs look good and no infections.

Some time on Thursday early afternoon we will be taking Jim Home.

Jim would appreciate NO visits this weekend.
He will probably be wiped out and in need of sleep.
